hI,
Have just booked 9 days at Walindi Plnatation Dive Resort end of march. If anyone has been there i would appreciate any info on conditions, best dive spots within 70 minutes of the resort, how they found the resort , did they go to Kimbe village for a look around, etc, etc

You'll enjoy it. It's certainly an out of the way place. If you have some free time the hot river tour is nice and see if you can get to see the B24/17 found about 5 years ago. One of the nights the "firefly" tree is great. The diving is spectacular, I've not seen better, I found that one can be easily enthralled for an hour watching the little busy marine life such as the goby w/ blind shrimp or just watching the sharks cruise around the reef. Get out in the harbor to see if you can find a pod of dolphins.

I only had three nights there (on the ends of a Febrina trip) but with the exception of the river which we didn't get to enjoyed the things referred to above. All the spots we dived on day trips from the resort were good. I think Jane's reef was my favourite. The rooms are not aircon but that was not a problem for me, the food is excellent as are the staff. You will have a great time but do try to do as much land stuff as you can to - it gives you a feel for PNG.
