Well just got back from a FABULOUS 4 day dive trip to Jupiter Fl and got a reverse squeeze today. Headache at 70 feet and dizzy at deco stop. Made it back to the boat with a wicked headache, where the dizziness got better, then worse....YUCK.
Got some O2 just in case, and a nice fellow diver gave me some sudafed and advil (took that after talking with DAN) On the mend, but don't dare bend over :11:
Should be better by tomorrow, they tell me.

Other than that and my high pressure seat getting blown it was a GREAT trip- LOVE the reefs out there, just so much to see!!!

no ear pain, front forehead HORRIBLE pain, which moved to my temples - then warm fuzzy feeling all down both sides of jaw

Sounds al lot like a sinus block. Those pesky upper sinus cavities. That is why I take some decongestants about three days before I go a dive trip, make sure they are open and clear.

Yeah...Sounds more like a sinus block...In any event it wasn't a good experience and sorry it happened.

Fantastic tattoo btw....

Yea, I have had a sinus block several times. It’s caused by a sinus congestion, which causes a lot of pain in the middle of the forehead on decent. Much like your ears when they won’t clear. When I have had a sinus block, my ears where doing fine.
A reverse block is when your ears will not clear on the way up. Which is a bad thing since you have to come up sometime.

THAT was horrible...I am just now feeling back to normal. I had to take Sudafed PE everyday twice a day or I was dizzy--even just turn my head quickly...wow that sucked!!!
So lesson learned, I will take sudafed before diving...just in case - ain't going through that AGAIN!

Now, back to diving :D

Oh, and contemplating my NEXT tattoo - I am thinking little bubbles going up in the shape of dive flags....hmmm

Glad you had a good time even considering the block...i had the same issue many years ago.

For most of my dives I take the regular 12 hour Sudafed (to avoid it wearing off)...never got much results from that PE light version.

Also note studies have shown the possibility that Sudafed and other meds may increase the likelihood of an oxygen tox hit when using nitrox:

Cheers.
