Cheddar,
Wait until you go DSLR!!! out of the water these rigs way quite a bit and you have to be careful. Once in the water, most everything is much more buoyant. My DSLR rig is just as neutral as my old SP350 only a little more bulky.

C A N ' T G O D S L R ....Mustn't even think it.......

Note:

Sea & Sea made two versions of 16mm lens:

The 16mm for the Motormarine II cameras used a bayonet mount. This is NOT the lens you want.

The other was made for the Nikonos 35mm lens. It uses a 58mm threaded mount. This is the one Gary used to have, and I still use one. It's a good lens. And they are cheap!

Adding to DesertEagle's post. You would need a stepdown ring (58mm>>>46mm) in order to use this lens.

Here's a link to B&H:

It is also possible to make a bayonet lug sleeve, which fits over the red lens bezel on the PT-030 housing. The MM II bayonet mount fits inside of the bezel, right against the lens plate of the housing. If one has access to a lathe or knows a machinist, this is another possibility (albeit a complex one).

Finally, and I'm not sure about this, would the Inon bayonet adapter work with Sea & Sea bayonet lens mounts?

I think I really want the Inon with the adapter. I am afraid I would screw up the threads underwater. My dc500 had a snap on and off WA. It was incredibly easy to use.....

The Inon mount will allow you to easily attach the lens underwater. The biggest advantage is that you can switch between wide angle and macro in a second. The macros can even be stacked.

As for the Sea & Sea, I just leave it on. The tip of the housing port has a small hole to let water in (which is required for the Sea & Sea to focus). The tricker part is that you must zoom in a bit with the lens. Otherwise you will end up with black corners. My understanding is that the Inon lens will work fine without zooming.

If I were doing this now, I'd probably buy the Inon. In my case, the Oly was a backup to a Nikonos wide angle system. I've since told the Nikonos & 15mm lens. Now the Oly is my primary and a Fuji f31 is the backup.

WooHoo Santa brought the Inon WA, Love that Santa!!!
