Myself and a non-Scubaboard diver headed to Vortext today to test some gear. My dive buddy got a new wetsuit and hood which came in handy today. Weather couldn't have been better for this time of year. Partly sunny with air temps in the low 70's. Water temps were the usual 68 degrees.

There were very few divers at Vortex today. My main purpose other then testing some gear configurations, was to test out my new Canon G10. I got the Ikelite case for my camera last week, this was the first time I have had it underwater. I am still learning which settings I like best. I am still waiting on one of my flashes to finish getting repaired. I was having to adjust my pictures with only half the light.

Bugman was there doing a cave dive with some people, we chatted a while during our SI. I got a few shots of him heading in to the cave. Also saw Kevin Carlisle there...good seeing you again Kevin. Hope we can dive together soon.

We made two dives today. Not sure why the basin was stirred up so much since there weren't many divers in the water. The cavern was clear as usual. Shane and the staff at Vortex were friendly and helpful as always.

Here are a few pictures from today...

Thanks Barry....can't wait till I get my other flash. Still have a lot to learn with this camera...but the first tests were promising.

Nice pictures Glen.

Thanks, the head on shot of the brim is my favorite too. I love black and white so I like throwing them in every now and then. Me, you and Barry will have to get a picture taking trip together sometime soon.

Good shots. I really liked the very first photo, and the B&W photo.

Trying to find some time and good weather to get back out to the Russian Freighter. Great area to shoot Pics!

That looked like a fun dive...let me know if you get something worked out, and have room for another camera.

Thanks for the pics Glenn. The b and w is of my two sons (18 and 14). My 14 year old is a new diver but my 18 year old has been diving since he was 12, hence his position in the water. I was diving with Mat on that dive and then made a second with my boys. That just made their day. You are right, it was a great day to dive. I was also surprised on how few divers there were.
