I am curious has anyone ever done volunteer work in SCUBA? If so where?

Isn't that what DM's do? Just kidding.

Can you clarify what you mean by volunteer work?

Well I was thinking of volunteering some time at newport aquarium, whatever they wanted.

I believe that dripdrypoet(scubaboard member) is a diver at the aquarium. He could probably help you out. I think some folks associated with Central Coast Dive Ctr in Edgewood, Ky dive at the aquarium also.

Cincinnati Dive Center also runs a volunteer program for the zoo so you may want to check that out as well.
