I'll have to play with it more, that was virtually a 30 seconds job just to give it a go.
One of my favorite shots from Bahamas, the angel fish where stealing the food right out of the turtle's mouth lol
Hi t4e, awesome and thanks for sharing the story behind the picture!
I love the pic and pleased you fixed so quickly - just providing a bit of coaching as you and others start using the sw. The best way to fix a picture is to start at the top left and work your way down and to the right:
- Depth Removal - does the heavy lifting, either in the 1-click from the 9-up screen or in the sliders. The 1-click adjusts Color, Contrast, Sharpness, and Lightness
- Lightness/Contrast work hand in hand to bring out the details
- I honestly don't use the color correction sliders that much - others use them more - I think this is often a function of what/if they've used software to fix pics in the past. For some of the hardest "saves", I'll use them.
- Vividness - this is a good finishing touch to take a look at, but, I probably only end up using it on maybe 10-15% of my images. In our software, Vividness is saturation. Definitely take a look at using it on turtle, squid, shark, and super colorful pics (possibly Vividness down for turtle/squid/shark and up for colorful). Also, with GoPro cameras.
Have fun fixing your pics and thanks for diving in!
I'll post another one of my favorite fixes - I'm fortunate to say that Cathy Church is a friend and has helped us a lot with the program and bringing it to market. On one occasion I asked her to clean out her trash folder and send me some pics. This Fiji pic was one of them and was actually our "Where In The World" post on our Facebook page,
www.facebook.com/vivid-pixfix, this past Wednesday (we have begun posting WITW every Wednesday - please join us!). Enjoy this 1-click picture fix!
