Is there any way to completely remove Visitor Messages? I've had several people mistakenly use Visitor Messages when they clearly meant to send PMs.
 
I guess I really don't get the point of the feature.

Edit Options >> Messaging & Notification >> Visitor Messaging >> Enable Visitor Messaging (check box)

FAQ:
This forum features a visitor messaging system that allows members to send messages to one another publicly.

If you do not want to receive visitor messages, you may disable the visitor messaging system.

At the very bottom of your 'Visitor Messages' tab you have the option to delete, approve or unapprove the (selected) visitor messages. That might do the trick..

I guess I really don't get the point of the feature.
It seems to be a take off on the Myspace comments, often imitated on Face book, AIM, AOL, etc. I disable it on most and post a request: If you have something to say, please say it to me.
