Will be in Ottawa for two weeks this August and would like to know of any really cool sites, or advice that may be helpful in diving there. Not sure I'll get in the water but want to very much. I am from Vancouver Island in B.C. and have only ever dove here. I have my own gear, but not sure i want to bring it all that way. So maybe the name of a couple of LDSs where i can expect quality rentals would also be useful. Thanks for any advice available.

Most divers in Ottawa will dive the St. Lawrence River just south of us ( 1 hour drive ) as there are many wrecks close to us.

There is also Morrisons quarries which is just north of Ottawa. There are some sunken cars, a plane , etc. with depths up to 129 feet.

The Ottawa River is not very good for diving. There are 6 or 7 local dive shops from which to choose... I can give you the names if you like.

Great diving in the St. Lawrence River (Cornwall to Brockville to Rockport) 45 mins to an hour away or Lake Ontario (Kingston) 1.5 - 2 hrs away. Drifts and wrecks mostly.
