Visiting Houston Early December - any suggestions for diving?

I may have to visit Houston for a few days in early December for work. I expect to have a day or so to myself. I have no idea of what diving, if any, is feasible for a one-day trip from Houston. Nor of what conditions are like in December.

Any suggestions?

If you are willing to dive in muddy fresh water lakes and quarries, Houston has you covered. There are a very few charters running that time of year, try Captain Randy at Sport Divers of Houston for a two tank rig dive.

You may want to see if chum has anything going on while you are there. They are a pretty active dive club in the Houston area, City of Houston Underwater Mariners - The Water's More Exciting with CHUM in it.

If looking for diving in Houston, I suggest going over to Bush International and taking a flight somewhere south.
