Has anyone been to either of these lake Erie wrecks lately? We are planning a dive this weekend, but that part of the lake tends to get pretty murky late in the summer. Anyone been to them recently?

Thanks,
Jim

Jim, I was out there a couple of weeks ago, mid week and found things cleared up nicely below 70-80'. You are likely to get clear water, but dark. (Assuming your gang doesn't mess it up...)

I was at Ducks on the weekend and dove the two-master and this was the situation there... the vs was maybe 10' until about 70' then it cleared right up at about 90'. At the bottom, I had at least 50' vis, perhaps more, but quite dark.

The Katie Eccles had about 70' vis below 90', but only 20 or so above that.

Enjoy your dives!

Thanks Stoo,

We dove the Browns Brothers and had 80 foot of viz yesterday, but that is inside the long point bay and somewhat protected. I dove the Atlantic a month or so ago and the viz was 6 feet maybe and incredibly dark. I was expecting about the same on the Crystal since it is in a similar spot in the lake. Good to hear it isn't too bad.

Thanks!
Jim
