When I was there on the weekend of the 1 & 2nd the vis was about 10ft in the shallows. There's been a lot of rain down there lately washing the limestone in & all the classes kept it pretty well stirred up. I did not go deep as I was with some OW students. I went deep (95ft) the weekend before & the vis was about 40- 50 ft below the last thermocline. I will be there this Wed. & Thurs. this week with some students again. I will give you an update when I return.

I'll be interested in reading that report. I'm trying to decide between camping and diving this weekend. The weekend of the 1-2, I got below the first thermocline and it was pretty good, not as good as below the second thermocline the prior weekend that you, I, and Steve were there and went deep but very acceptable. I would say that 10' was generous later in the day in the shallows unless you went to the back wall. Back there, it was probably 20-25 feet and we saw quite a few bass. In the most common area and late in the day, I almost bumped my head into the motorcycle before seeing it.

We got an inch of rain last night and there is a chance of it again tonight. Who knows?

Decent vis, might sway my choice for this weekend...

The vis at Pennyroyal Wed. was surprisingly good in the shallows. It was a bit murky in areas, but it was generally about 30ft or so. Be aware that once big classes & such get in there, it will get considerably murkier. But I was very impressed.
