My LP steel 72 is due for a VIP, so I removed the valve just to have a look inside, which I've never done before. Are there any pictures somewhere that show pass/fail interior images for a steel tank? I don't see rust but it's not shiny either. Just curious is all, never had it fail a VIP.

@Lake Hickory Scuba did a good youtube video on VIP procedures, but in terms of the actual pass fail criteria, it will all depend on the inspector unfortunately. Steel tanks are VERY difficult to get to fail VIP unless they have been horribly abused with water inside of them. I have a pair of them that "failed" VIP, but really just need a few hours on a tank tumbler and they'll be bright and shiny inside again. Not a whole lot of risk there. Unless there is visual pitting or cracking, odds are it will pass
