I just don't log dives
I just found a vintage white stag backpack that I want to return to service. Been so long since I dove a bare backpack I need to find a picture on running the straps for the backpack. If my aging memory serves me right they used to have 2 buckles, one on the shoulder strap and the other on the waist strap to allow dumping of gear if necessary. A picture would be great. Mahalo

Hi
Welcome to Scubaboard. I might suggest you post this question over in the Sea Hunt section for vintage diving. I know there is someone that can address this for you. I have some older backpacks but no White Stag.

Welcome to the board. I have several of the old BPs, first chance I get I will shoot you a couple of photos....may be a day or so. There were 2 buckles, one on the left shoulder and the other on the waist band. The exact routing depends on the brand and model. You can’t post photos until you get a few post logged but if you can, shoot a photo, it helps us identify the equipment and give you better advise.

In the future it would be better to post vintage questions in the vintage section. We have an incredible amount of vintage expertise here. Maybe one of the mods would be so kind as to move it for you if you ask. I love my old BP and have gotten to the point I prefer them over my modern BC.

Mahalo to all who replied. Special thanks to ffhamm, that's my backpack and the photo is just what this old memory needed to get it back in service. Henceforward I'll be sure to post in the vintage area. Maybe I'm just to old a dog to learn new tricks, but in 40 years of diving I've never found a regulator that was a better breather than my old brass body two hose. Would kill to still have it, but you can only rebuild them so many times before it becomes hopeless. Still love horse collars over newer BC's. Easy to maintain, reliable and comfortable. That's why this backpack is about to go back into service.:D
