My first "dive" with scuba gear was through a "cave" under a set of steps with my uncle's DA Aquamaster when I was 5 or 6. Oddly enough I got into vintage diving with double hose regs about 10 years ago - several years after getting into technical diving, and my normal single tank pretty fish recreational setup is a double hose reg. (Although which one of the seven double hose regs I own and dive probably depends on my mood.)

As you note above, it helps put the adventure back into even a routine dive and brings to mind the excitement of Sea Hunt, Jacque Cousteau and other media influences that influenced my generation and created interest in diving.

Very nice write up Trace! They all are great people, unassuming and just down right friendly.
