The harnesses VDH sells are made by SB member simonbeans. Personally, I never did like those old harness setups. After I tried the new (for the '60s) backpacks, I found I liked them much more than my old harness. It's much easier to swap tanks with a backpack. Of course, I found that a crotch strap was still a necessity diving my old DA Aqua-Master, but I think a backpack is more comfortable and more convenient. Now that I'm back into DH diving, I still prefer a backpack to vintage-style harness. But, of course, it is matter of personal choice.
