A couple of weeks ago, Ron and I went to our local dive spot for a couple of dives. He needed to work on his tech skills and I needed to check out my new WA lens.

My Video:

I am very pleased with the results. Picture is crystal clear, even down on the bottom at 70-80' depth with very little light. Vis was very good as we were the only divers in the water.

camcorder: HD Canon Hg-21
housing: Ikelite, added dome port
no lights, just the red filter
WA lens: Raynox HD5050

Cool vid, and nice spot! Where is this spot? <edit> saw it in the credits!

Wow, Robin, that new lens + camera combo is really working! Super sharp. Outstanding vis doesn't hurt either! ;)

Thanks for sharing!

Yes. I can't believe how good the vis is! I guess I'd have to compare that place to our local quarrys here and we never get vis like that even if you are the only folks in the water. I'd do a lot more local diving if I had a place like that close by.

Your system is doing all right by you. :D

Great footage. Viz is fantastic and the lens/port/camcorder/housing combination looks great.

Also great job holding steady. I am still struggling with shaky footage and holding these little systems steady.

thanks! It comes with practice. ;)
I spent a bit of time trying to stay off the bottom and shoot that day (silt on bottom is about 1' thick).. it is funny when you are in a place like that and there is current! Yeah, fresh water spring blasting 2000 gallons of water per minute out of that hole in the back corner. If you bump the bottom or your fins get too close, the vis goes poof for hours. Not having students in there helped greatly. So, thanks for saying I looked steady!
