I'm a Fish!
Linda and I joined Cpt PeterG on the MaryQ for three dives at Palos Verde. The top was dirty and warm, the bottom was cold and relatively clean. Lots of nudi's and siminas at Hawthorne, Pt Vicente Pinnacles, and the Redondo Barge. I think PV beats Catalina in critter sighting any day. I also completed my 2,500th logged dive at PV Pinnacles.

Glad you had productive dives, Walter. Of course it isn't difficult to beat Catalina for nudis! You generally have to go deep to see them in our waters, especially from Long Point south to the East End. They seem to prefer the cold deeper waters and places with current that feed the critters they munch on. I generally see a lot more nudis at depths in excess of 100 fsw.

Of course you probably won't see Felimare (Hypselodoris) californiensis over there since it apparently disappeared from the mainland in the late 1970s, possibly due to pollution.
