Beam angle is important, the GoPro shoots 170^o so you want to try to match it so you don't get dark circles around your subject.
Two lights would be optimal for overlapping coverage. 2500 lumens is midrange fish scaring power.

DiverSteve is right. At a 140 degree beam angle producing 2500 lumens each the Galaxy is the light to go with for serious underwater video. Take a look at the attached page from our latest catalog.
