Video editing software question

I have been usin movie maker 2.6 and am not happy with the results, what are your suggestions for editing software. Freeware is great but purchasing an editing suite is also good. Help needed

If you have a Mac, iMovie is not a bad place to start, and it's free....

I have not tried muvee but I tried a lot of them, and settled on sony movie studio platinum 12 for ~$40 off ebay. top of the line features + gpu acceleration sealed the deal for me. they have a trial also.

The problem that I have with the 15-30 day trial periods is that I have yet to find one that gives you all the features to try. It's always a water down version...so I cannot do real trial. Do you let us try the full version?

thank you Lindsay for your first post also selling your software. If you could share more about your diving experience that may help you more than spam posting. Sony Vegas Movie Maker for me, $99 bucks, screw the 10 day trial periods. I just buy it and learn it, and Adobe Premiere I just couldn't learn, Sony Vegas still has a learning curve don't get me wrong, but well worth the $100 at a local store

I am using Hero 3 Black and I am thrilled with Sony Platinum 12 for editing!!! I shoot 1080 60fps and love all that the program does.
