A few years back I came to this forum with 100 dives asking timid questions about long hoses, light cans and Fundies. Thanks so much to all of you who had the compassion and patience to sort a newbie out and launch me on this incredible underwater journey!

Last weekend I logged dive #900 in Catalina at the GUE conference (that's almost 700 dives with GUE divers!).

Scooters, beautiful diving, one of my favorite dive buddies and surrounded by a global GUE family - it doesn't get better!

Thanks to Lamont for shooting beautiful video, to Laura James for the awesome job with editing and to all of you at GUE HQ's and in Los Angeles who worked hard to bring us such a great conference!

Looks like everyone had an awesome time. I did have to laugh at 0:35 when it looks like you see the evil split fins in the same frame as you and quickly give the wave off :)

I'll make it out that way at some point to see firsthand what all the hype is about.

The conditions at the dive park really couldn't have been better . . . we had blue water down to about 70, and very comfortable surface water to get up the steps in. As the video shows, we had brilliant sunlight through the kelp, and I'm quite sure the dive park has never seen so many frog-kicking, can-light-toting dviers in doubles in its entire history.

I love the part of the video that shows me desperately trying to point out a Giant Sea Bass to the team in front of me, which was so busy being perfect that none of them noted my frantic light signals, shrieking through my regulator, or my vigorous pointing to the fish . . .

great video, thanks for posting...I missed the conference cuz of the flu :(

Thanks! I'm sorry you couldn't join us - hope you can make the next one! I was also fortunate to attend the 2010 GUE conference in Mexico.

It's so amazing to connect and with our GUE friends from across the US and globe, exchange ideas, make connections and gain a sense of how extensive, welcoming, supportive and helpful our dive community really is!

Hope to see you at one soon!
