After a few conversations with Gombessa, I pulled the trigger on a Canon SD980 and the Ikelite housing.
Here's a few short and soundless videos from our most recent trip to Mexico with this set-up. I had posted this information on the Canon sub-forum too, but wanted to provide the samples in the Videography sub-forum as well.

Overall, I've been pretty happy with the SD980. I should have some Monterey video in the coming weeks, and that'll be a very good test.
