Date: 10/7/07
Dive Location: Vets
Buddy(ies): Angelique
Time: 9:12 pm.
Bottom Time: 57 Min
Max Depth: 97 fsw
Vis: 15-20ft
Wave height: 1-4 feet
Temp at depth: 57F Felt colder @ 90
Surface Temp: 65F
After a few non photo dives, I was finally able to test my housing on a previous dive and get it ready for tonight. The conditions at Vets were pretty good. There was a significant wind chop but it was not too bad. Entry was a piece of cake so we kicked out to the end of the pier and dropped down.
As we started to make our way out to the canyon, we came across a huge area of crabs dug under the sand just sticking their antenna out. It looked way cool. The vis at around 100 was just OK and there was not much going on critter wise so we only stayed for a short time. On our way back up we saw a bunch of octopi and a few tube dwelling anemone. There were a few huge brown shrimp out too so after I was done shooting them Angelique swooped them up and put them in her bag.
We only spotted one nudi but we did see a bunch of rays. Check out the tiny baby crab at the bottom.
Below are some highlights from the dive:
