I don't think that was the crux of this study! Sildenafil for instance, is a pulmonary vasodilator and as such was unable to overcome the hyperoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction induced by oxygen. This study looked at three drugs that might be able to overcome hyperoxic closed IPAVAs not that these drugs close IPAVAs.
