"It's a popular subject! These researchers think there are some drugs that can help close IPAVAs at any inspired pp02 from normoxic to 100%.

Is Diamox safe for hyperbaric use?"

I don't think that was the crux of this study! Sildenafil for instance, is a pulmonary vasodilator and as such was unable to overcome the hyperoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction induced by oxygen. This study looked at three drugs that might be able to overcome hyperoxic closed IPAVAs not that these drugs close IPAVAs.

Why are you bringing up Diamox?

Certainly one of the best informed and easily read treatments of the topic... thanks again for posting.

Why are you bringing up Diamox?

[-]Many of the researchers who worked on the two other papers mentioned in this thread have published other papers on pulmonary circulation. I read some. ... [/-]

But I didn't read far enough. Those three drugs don't work the way I thought.

Thanks Claudia, and sorry to waste bandwidth.
