Want to find a doughnut wing... been doing a bit of research, but I am not sure about the oxycheq signature wing versus the diverite venture wing. Does the venture wing have a zippered outer enclosure? How does the venture wing perform in comparison to the oxycheq wing. How do these wings compare to the single tank wings made by Halcyon?

The venture wing has a funky square profile. Sorta weird. I imagine that it doesn't make a difference in the water.

I have an Oxycheq and Halcyon single wings. I prefer the oxycheq.

That being said, you probably can't go wrong with any of these wings.

I used to own a Venture wing. If it had 10-lbs more lift, I'd still own it. To my concern, it's one of Dive Rite's better designs. But I'm a big guy and dive large steel cylinders ... and need more than 30-lb lift.

I traded it in for a larger size Oxycheq, standard (non-Signature).

They're both excellent singles wings. If you only need 30-lb lift, either will make you happy. If you need a larger singles wing, then the Oxycheq 45-lb is the way to go.

The Venture wing does not have a zippered outer shell. Nor, IMO, does it need one. The thing's built very sturdy.

I have the Venture.. if I had it to do over again I would get the Oxycheq....

I do in general like Dive Rite gear.. but the Venture does not satisfy...

Sorry if I am being too vague :)

Wheezl,
Why is that, if I may ask?

I don't like the square shape of the wing, and it seems to get bunched up, as if the bladder is actually too large for the outer shell. So it always feels akward.. it the water it seems more or less fine however.

right now it has a huge hole in it after I lent it out... so it sits awaiting aquaseal...

and my Venture *does* have a zippered outer shell and boy does it need one :)

Just wondered . . .

I have one and I like it. I don't mean to say that I run around writing "I LOVE MY VENTURE WING" on the walls or anything, but the way I figure it, when I'm under water, it's deflated and the shape doesn't really make a big difference. However, the square A shape, I think, is a bit more streamlined.

But, anyway, just wondered.

Thanx . . .

And I certainly didn't mean that I hated it because it gets a little bunched up and awkward looking. It's just fine. I love my OxyCheq doubles wing so much though that if I had it to do over I would get the OxyCheq singles wing instead of the Venture.

Got a question about the venture inner bladder. If it seems to be bigger than the outer shell, does this cause air to get trapped in folds so that it is difficult to deflate all the way?

Also, how does one get a hole in the wing?

Been getting a lot of different answers about which wing is the best and which brand is the best. Other than some remarks about not going with Halcyon (from a store that sells Halcyon, Diverite and OMS), are there any other wings in the 30 lbs lift category that anyone can suggest?

I think I have the backplate part figured out, but I am still trying to find the right wing and the right harness system.
