Just booked our Divi reservations yesterday for a mid-February Bonaire trip (am taking the Mrs. there as a suprise for her 40th birthday). I'm wondering if we need to rent a truck for the entire week or just for a couple of days.

We are non-divers, just "casual" snorkelers. Intend to do some sightseeing, e.g., the park at the north end, but other than that am unsure just how much we'll use a vehicle. I really don't want to pay for something that will sit most of the time (then again, I could be mistaken.)

What do you think?

I would suggest you get a vehicle. Even as casual snorkelers you will want to try some of the sites both north and south of Divi. From the Divi you can walk to restaurants in town but then you would be missing out on some of the excellent ones that are not right in town. If you only reserve a vehicle for a few days and then decide you want it for longer it might be hard to add days since February is very busy and rentals can be scarce. Also, I would suggest renting ahead of time.

I total agree, you want the truck. A suggestions for you, book a snorkle trip with Renee (Liz at Golden Reef Inn can hook you up with her).

I would rent for the week. When we're there we spend much of our time diving from the boat or the resort dock, and we still want a car. If I wasn't diving all the more reason.

You absolutely have to have a vehicle in Bonaire. Resorts are small, beaches are marginal so you need to move around - for snorkeling, sightseeing (cross the island for some scenery) and restaurants.
