When I try to do the Valsalva Maneuver (shut your nose and mouth and blow), my left ear doesn't equalize. I had my doctor check my ear and she said she didn't see anything wrong with it. Do you know what could be causing this? Thanks.

Assuming this is a real question (first post, unlikely doctor interaction, odd user name)....

Firstly, asking for a medical diagnosis on a forum is probably not a great idea.

Secondly, Valsalva is just one of many ways. Many folks prefer the Lowry technique: swallow while closing off the mouth and nose and pressurizing, and also simultaneously tilting the head to the right to stretch the left Eustachian tube. Ears and Sinuses, DAN | Medical Frequently Asked Questions
