Methose

more info please -

1. How much money are you wanting to spend?
2. What type of hotel/resort? Rustic or luxury?
3. YOur profile says you aren't certified yet - are you getting cert before the trip? Are both of you going to be diving?
4. How many dives per day do you want to do?
5. How do you want to spend the rest of your day? Sitting in sun on beach, shopping, partying? Or do you want to do land-based activities - touring local culture, ruins, history, zoos, windsurfing, jungle tours?

that's a start..........

Have you decided where you are going to go yet? If yes, it would be interesting to know what you found out and where you and your wife decided to go... It might give me a good idea for my next vacation!

If not, just tell us if you want are looking for far away/exotic or the best the lower 48 has to offer. It would also be helpful to know if you are planning to get certified while on vacation!

You might look at one of the ABC island (Aruba, Curacao, Bonaire). Depending on what you're looking for in activities, that would narrow your choice. Big advantage of these islands for a summer getaway to the tropics is they are below the hurricane belt, so although there's never a guarantee of not being affected by a hurricane, the odds are more than in your favor of not having your vacation spoiled.

Fort Lauderdale offers numerous shallow reefs close to shore that are ideal for diving or snorkeling. The Inside Reef at Lauderdale by the Sea is only 15 feet to the sand and about 11 feet deep on top. It is a highly structured reef with abundant living coral and aquatic life. If you want to go deeper, you can take a dive boat to one of the three reef lines that run from West Palm Beach to Miami and dive on one of the numerous wrecks sunk as part of the artificial reef programs in Palm Beach, Broward and Dade counties.

Fort Lauderdale offers other attractions such as Butterfly World and the Everglades tours, as well as restaurants, night clubs and other entertainment. If you stay at the Bridge @ Cordova, we offer dive certifications at steep discounts. See our website for details. Home Page.
