was wondering how this software comes up whith the air consuption rate?. how conservative are they?

The software does not determine your consumption rate. Each user configures the system with his/her own SAC (gas consumption) rate among other variables. The software uses these values to calculate gas volume needs for a given dive profile. In terms of the deco profiles generated, the user again sets the level of conservatism.

with V-planner you plug in your SAC rate for both for both Bottom and deco you can also set the conservatism to whatever you feel like. You can also do lost gas planning and things like that.

Im on the stander plus 2 , but i never enter my consuption rate yet it calculated it for me.
It has a default SCR in it when it comes - can't remember what that was, but it was pretty conservative... I think about .7CFM, if memory serves.
