Hey, Everyone. In case you haven't heard the University of West Florida Nautical Archeology Department will be the host at the July 7th meeting at 6:30 PM at the Bay Beach Inn (Old Quality Inn) in Gulf Breeze, FL. If you weren't aware they are involved in the discovery and collacting of artifacts from the Luna Wreck(s) in the Pensacola Bay, these are the oldest known shipwrecks in North America. They will be bringing some artifacts and I'm sure some great stories to share with us, and will hopefully put an end to the question, What are they doing on that dive barge over by the 3 mile bridge?;)

Hope to see you all there!

If you've noticed the barge is back in the bay and they have begun dive operations on one of the sites again!

Very cool! I'm going to try to get there this month. Sorry, I have not been a very faithful member lately. Damn that job thing!

Can't you picture a group of these students a hundred years from now trying to figure out the Oriskany and some of the other wrecks out here? That will be so cool. I hope they find all the gear that I've dropped overboard and wonder about the antique stuff.
