I am un able to load the J Trak (MAC) software for my MAC, from the website or the Smart Trak disk.

I am using a MAC OS X 10.6.2, has anyone successfully loaded this software for the Uwatec Aladin Tec2G to a MAC?

What errors are you getting?

No errors, it loads and an icon comes up but when you click on it nothing happens. Only options are a window with basic info about the program.

If you do a search there are plenty of folks on the board who have had nothing but frustration with J-Track.

Save yourself a lot of misery and go with the SmartTrak software. It runs great under Parallels; and, although it has its quirks, is a pretty nice electronic dive log.

do you get a "JTrak" menu on the menu bar? ( Apple - JTrak - Dive - Extras - Help )

here's what i see when starting the program:

do you get something similar?

what version of JTrak is it (JTrak -> About JTrak) ?

do you have the necessary hardware (infra-red transceiver) ?

Nothing like that all I get is the about J Track window says 1.2.2

I do not have the infra red receiver yet for the MAC. Recommendations? Im getting frustrated i really want to use this on my MAC but am scared i may have to just use the Smart Track on my MS PC.

so does it look like this:

?

try this...

1) make sure jtrak is quit (cmd + tab to show active applications)

2) open your home folder (the little house)

3) navigate to Library : Preferences & find the "jtrak" folder

4) put the jtrak folder in the trash (i am assuming you have no logs saved)

5) empty trash

6) start JTrak again

there is a jtrak help email address at jtrak-users@frobese.de
