Uwatec Splendido Smart Pro Dive Computer Scubaholics Anonymous

Can't find any info on Uwatec site.

I have never heard of a "Splendido" before, but it looks a black version of a UWATEC Smart Z.

Looks more like the middle east (Malasian) version of the Smart Pro.\\http://www.scubapro.com/media/45a057f3-4882-40d3-b291-e523e708b5c8-SmartPRO-COM.pdf

not the Smart Z, because the Smart Z does not have that line above which the batter % is displayed.

You're right. I didn't notice that the battery indicator was in the upper corner, not in the center like my Smart TEC. I've seen the Smart COM before, but not the Smart Pro. That's new to me.

Splendido was an OEM brand manufactured (exclusively?) for a certain Japanese dive shop chain, N's game by ScubaPro.

Since MSRP for dive gear are high in Japan, allowing LDSs to adjust prices through discount, and Splendido being a no-discount brand, divers in Splendido brand divegear have been seen by some as scam victims.

There also have been rumors that in quite a few cases, novice divers that happened to start diving with this diveshop are talked into buying full gear in the so-pricey Splendido brand, including regs, bcd, wet and dry suit etc, ending up with a rather heavy installment payment. The rumor goes on to say that the diveshop operation is in it's self a pyramid scheme, since the dive shop advocates and rewards bringing in to-be-diver friends in.

Please note the last part is only rumors, and not based on hard facts.

Here are few pics of their products. Looks like their version of the S555 and S600 Classic second stages.
