It can track 4 transmitters. The most common usage would be:
T1--my back gas
T2--my travel gas
TD--my deco gas
Buddy--Buddy's back gas

If you want the computer to know the pressure of each tank, each tank needs a transmitter. It is also possible to simply program in the mix in T2 and TD,and have analog guages on those tanks. galileo can then do deco calculations but has no tank pressure info.

The 3 transmitters could just as easily be on 3 peoples 1st stages, but as danclem mentioned typical carribean divers would likely run into range issues. Here in NE we're almost always in range.

I still need to talk to SP, but this doesn't seem correct. The buddy channel is independent of the other channels because you don't want your buddies consumption being factored into your profile. It might work for tracking your buddies, but any gas data for your own profile would be useless.

One of the features that was highlighted is the computers ability to tell when you have switched to the wrong gas. I don't know if it is programmed to alarm on loss of gas, but that's exactly what it would look like for the computer if you have 3 sources all losing pressure at the same time.

Hey Stevead:

We should start a discussion about which area has the worst visibility: the Northeast, or Northwest. Winter is usually good, but the plankton blooms in summer! There are times I can hardly see my UWATEC. Makes for good navigation skills and lousy photos.

Cheers,

Dan

No contest necessary. I was out that way for thanksgiving a few years ago and managed to get in a couple of dives. Aside from seeing an entirely different set of critters, I felt right at home.

Are you kidding? That mask doesn't even have a purge valve.

Seriously, I love gimmicky electronic stuff as much as the next guy, but given the range of gear available, I can't have it all and need to prioritize. If a piece of gear will seriously enhance my diving, I'm all for it. HUD? I don't see any advantage, but I do see some potential problems. I would expect visibility to be the main selling point for HUD, but to me, looking into a corner of my mask is no more convenient than the glance at my wrist.

let me tell you wear this mask pay for them selfs, in dark water wear you can't see your cage a few foot in front of you .that is one advantage I can see.
