Will be in Utila 9/15 for a week at the Utila Lodge. Besides the obvious stuff (dive gear) is there anything we should remember to bring?

Bug spray and sunscreen will the most important items. Also, less clothes, more money.

This is going to sound really strange.... but... a snorkel!

I can't tell you how many folks we see coming through these days who choose to dive without a snorkel. While it may not be much of an issue when you're diving, Whale Shark encounters (and September they're usually passing back through) are done as a snorkel, not a dive, unless you are a researcher & have a permit to dive with them.

So here you are on your surface interval (after an incredible dive on Black Hills I might add), and lo & behold the DM calls out 'Go, Go, Go!' (boat Crews brief you on WS procedures)... and there you sit, mask & fins in hand, but no snorkel. Not saying it's not 'doable', but it sure is easier with the snorkel!

Feel free to PM me if you have guys have any questions.
