I know, I Know...it's hurricane season. I live on the gulf coast of Texas and we comprende hurricane season and trip cancellation insurance. I also know that the viz may not be magical 100 feet, but I had one of my best big fish sighting trips ever in Roatan in November a few years ago (even if we did had to shuttle across the island from West End because of sea conditions on that side).
I guess my major question is.....Does it really absolutely suck in late Oct/early November or is it just not as good as other times?

My job keeps me most busy in summer and I know I'm gonna be ready to get wet as soon as possible after summer and it looks like Utila is relatively easy to get to from Houston (direct to either Roatan or San Pedro Sula on Continental) and I like what I'm reading about the laidback nature of the place.

We've done much of the Caribbean including Bonaire, Roatan, St Lucia, D.R., Cayman, Belize, Tobago, Cozumel, both coasts of Costa Rica, and a little Panama. Language isn't an issue and we like laid back (I hate shoes), somewhat undeveloped locations. Utila seems to match that, but if I'm absolutely stupid for looking at late Oct or November....somebody please tell me.

thanks in advance

Joe
