To my knowledge, not a single dive computer comes standard with the USB connector. All require it as an add-on, and most are upwards of $100. And the fundamental premise is the same for all moderate level - recreation computers - basic dive details display on screen through the log - deeper dive details through USB. Once you get into Deco computers, they will provide more details, such as graphs as such.
You can try connecting with the Want to Buy boards on this forum, ScubaToys, and others and ask if anyone is hanging onto a cable they are willing to sell. You could even try eBay.
The link cDolphin gave you will identify which Suunto models use which cable. I don't think there is one USB cable standard for all Suunto dive models.
Incidentally, I'm not sure why you find the dive log so cumbersome. Compared to other computer logs I have played with, the Suunto is pretty thorough, detailed, and easy to get to.
With that said, there is even more data that can be downloaded, such as air consumption, starting/ending pressure. Additional, the Suunto dive log software is pretty decent with the graphical profile and allowing you to record non-computer dive details, such as gear, conditions, buddy, location.
Good Luck. I hope you find a cable.
