Whomever talked me into this computer I could chunkadunk! Getting to any dive history is a pain in the **!

SO I need a USB cable for my Cobra Sunnto!

ONE so I can get my info off without carpel or thumb cramps!
TWO HEADACHE!

So if anyone knows where I may find one... PLEASE LET ME KNOW! MUCH APPRECIATED!

THANKS TonyaT

To my knowledge, not a single dive computer comes standard with the USB connector. All require it as an add-on, and most are upwards of $100. And the fundamental premise is the same for all moderate level - recreation computers - basic dive details display on screen through the log - deeper dive details through USB. Once you get into Deco computers, they will provide more details, such as graphs as such.

You can try connecting with the Want to Buy boards on this forum, ScubaToys, and others and ask if anyone is hanging onto a cable they are willing to sell. You could even try eBay.

The link cDolphin gave you will identify which Suunto models use which cable. I don't think there is one USB cable standard for all Suunto dive models.

Incidentally, I'm not sure why you find the dive log so cumbersome. Compared to other computer logs I have played with, the Suunto is pretty thorough, detailed, and easy to get to.

With that said, there is even more data that can be downloaded, such as air consumption, starting/ending pressure. Additional, the Suunto dive log software is pretty decent with the graphical profile and allowing you to record non-computer dive details, such as gear, conditions, buddy, location.

Good Luck. I hope you find a cable.

Sorry, also, I didn't realize which forum section you posted in.

In addition to viewing the Suunto website, you can also view the forum here in ScubaBoard for Suunto (under Manufacturers) and in Classified, within the Computers.

I realize you only have two postings here. There are better places in the SB forum where this question will get you better luck.

Cheers.

DANG! Work had kept me crazie and that cable sold! Oh well I will keep looking THANKS for that link! And all the helpful info!

Since I have been away from diving for awhile I even had to drag out the "how to use it" book for my computer. I know I am in the right area.... BUT it will not give me ANY history.. I am wondering if the battery had been removed for to long and it all deleted? A guy on my recent trip was telling me (it can happen) Not sure if I should believe the dude or not...... But then its not giving me any dive history... I will NOT give up! I will try working with it more!

Id LOVE to not have to carry my log book with me and just load it all in my computer :) I could be more detailed :)

I will keep looking!

I use an infra red connection for my dive computer and it cost me just £1.50. Not even $3.
