Was it unusual to have BCD's with no manufacturing name on them?
I am attempting to identify these two but can find no markings what so ever. The first three images are one bcd and the second three images belong to another. Thanks for any ideas
Thanks.

I do not know specifically. The backpack was used with BCs in the mid '80s. The CO2 inflation was also common in that era. I had, from what I can remember, an early cumber-bun from about 1985. Back then, many of the BCs (they were called BCs then) had straps like a harness today on the backpack. I had 2 different ones, one which had the strap and the other had been replaced with stronger shoulder wraps. The corrugated hose seems to be more modern, maybe a replacement. In the '80s many were less refined then that one. It looks more like a USD hose to me. I had Teknopro BCs or something like that back then. These look similar but not quite. Mine were effectively made by a no-name company trying to break in the industry. Overall if I had to date it, it is from 1985 - 1990 with a personal bet of 1987 just because of the evolution I see on it.

I had or used a couple of BCs that were not readily labeled as to who manufactured them. I bought them because they were about 1/2 price of a known manufacturer of the time, Scuba Pro being the main one from what I remember.

Good luck I will be watching to see if someone recognizes it.

Thank you for your thoughts. That time frame would make sense. They came from the Indiana state police. I purchased a rather big lot lately. Most of them are mares Vector 1000 but there werent marked

The emergency inflator cartridge dates one to the early-80's or earlier. Wasn't such a great idea when they started corroding after a couple years.

I'm guessing military surplus that was seconded to the police department. Or may have been done by a "regular" vendor as a government contract; hence no branding.

The dump valve looks like Aeris/Atmos, which is/was Oceanic?
