Needless to say the BC's in question had only one. I honestly have no idea why any manufacture would create a device without 2 bands. I would advise keeping that in mind before you purchase.[/QUOTE]
This applies to beach diving as well, I've seen even properly secured tanks with single bands come loose in the rough surf...never seen a tank with two straps come loose.
If your BC comes with only one strap look to see that the plate is set up to allow a second tank band. Also, I've seen some very cheap tank bands, if i had only one tank band I'd make sure it was a good sturdy band.
