I recently tried a scooter on my last dive trip and was interested in buying one. The one I tried was around $2000. I was looking at the Sea-Doo models....they're a little cheaper and I've heard some good things. Has anyone tried any others or are the Sea-Doos the way to go????????

Depends how deep you want to go. A seedoo is fine if you don't plan on scootering deep. I have tried a couple of different scooters (X-scooter and an apollo I beleive). Both have their pros and cons. But the X can go to 300+ feet most other scooters are limited to <165 unless you make modifications.

Sea-Doos are cheap. I think you can get them for $500 or less. But I think they are only rated to 100ft. Another consideration is this: What will your buddy scooter around on? Or will you be diving solo?

The one I rode pulled two people ( a 24 volt sysytem??) no problem. My diving is limited to around 100ft that's the only reason I was looking cheap. What is the X-scooter?? I went on e-bay and there are all kinds of "knockoffs" are there any worth it?? Or do you get what you pay for??

I have a Tekna that's been modified with the heavy bulkheads, and has a new battery (24v setup). I also have a second one for spare parts. I'll take $600 for the works. It's a little more heavy duty than the sea doo. The only reason I'm selling it is that I got a Mako. It runs good. Pickup in S fla.
