Hey,
Does anyone know if there is a pumpkin carving contest(underwater, of course) down at the Breakwater this year? Also, do you carve your pumpkin already "de-gutted" or do you "de-gut" it underwater? Any suggestions?
Thanks
Susie

Diving Singles is doing one Sunday. Pregutted pumpkins
to avoid making a mess UW. We used to gut them UW,
and the fish loved it, but decided that UW littering was a
bad idea.

I don't know about that... in my experience all the scraps get eaten pretty quickly. I usually gut them first too, but only as a matter of convenience. The one suggestion I have is to bring a weight (rocks are good) with you to offset the natural bouyancy of the pumpkin. Just drop it inside, and you're set to go.
