Who/where are some great places to take this specialty? I have heard of Cathy Church in the Camyan's any other recommendations?

There are way better photo trips and events with renowned photographers than any renowned photographers Specialty Course. I'd look at your total predicted cost for Cathy's "Specialty" and compare costs to, say, a Galapagos photo trip.

Look at one of the Mike and Mike courses on the Aggressor Fleet. You get a Liveaboard for a week, a week of instruction including one on one, costs about $400 over the cost of the week. Good Deal.

I can highly recommend Bonnie Pelnar and the course she is going to teach in Cozumel. I took one of her online coureses a couple of years ago and it was excellent. My understanding is that they are not accepting anymore students for the online course. When I took the course, Bonnie was always helpful and answered all my emails regarding questions I had as I took the course. She offers several trips a year where she teaches underwater photography. Here is her website: http://www.underwatercolors.com/upcomingtrips.html. Cozumel is a great dive location and you get a great value for your money.

Yea, but what about the current??......lol, & we go twice a year for our quickie trips.....

Very little current on Palancar Gardens plus it is one of the best places for marine life I have visited. I am sure there are others.

Wow Diver 85, twice a year!!!! I wish I could go twice a year. I haven't been to Coz for about 4 years (too many expensive dive trips, Fiji, Galapagos, Red Sea, etc). However, I've been thinking a lot lately about returning. Coz is a great place. BTW, checked your pics out......very nice.

That's our quick get away destination(in fact we always go Wed AM thru Sun & are diving Wed afternoon for 4 days, works out pretty good)---after selling our house on Roatan, we have to have a quickie/cheaper place to go to......Try to take another 'big' one in between....

EDIT: I see you're from Va, a place you've got to get to, if you've not already made it, is Dominica----basically it's a 'National Geographic' type trip---you can go 20 hrs a day for a week & still not see all the stuff topside plus the diving is 2nd to none.....Think 'Pirates of the Caribbean'(part 2 & 3) on the beautiful topside things to see(it's where they filmed them)....A must do trip-----
