Does anyone here on the forum us a Sony TRV-27 MiniDV Video Camcorder underwater? If so can you make recommendations on housings?

I know all the vendors, but I truely want to hear from any TRV-27 owners who are currently using UW housings.

Thanks in advance....

I have the light and motion and have been really happy with it. IMO you need to get the video back monitor,/bigger battery so I'd plan for that.
Best, bob

I have an Ocean Images Dolphin Pro that I stick my Sony TRV-30 into. It works very well with the exception of being a bit large for the camera.

I have been thinking about selling it and getting a newer smaller sexier model - but who wants to pay $1000 for a used housing. This makes it difficult for me to justify buying a new one when this one works so well.

Know the Top Dawg is fundamentally a basic housing but it has one very big advantage... almost any Sony TR or TRV camcorder fits in it. I can use all three of my camcorders in the same housing without a single adjustment.

As you already realize... a housing dedicated to a specific model camcorder can become quite useless when that camcorder is no longer manufactured. I prefer my flexibility and the results are quite acceptable.

Can you provide me with an internet link to Top Dawg's sight? I have never heard of them before. What do they run in pricing compared to the others?

Thanks in advance

This is also a benefit of the Dolphin housing - any LAN-C controlled camera can be used in the housing
