has any one hurd about the underwaster hotels? i hurd rumors about one being built that was more like a real hotel then the old research labs that were turned into hotels just for divers. is it real are they building it or was it just a dream i had?:confused:

<Double post - how does that happen?>

Yep, Walter is right. There is one in Key Largo. The Name is "Jules Underwater Hotel". Just google it and you will find there Website. This is the only one I know...

I want the job of cleaning the windows, daily? (not). Room service by an octopus? ok it is a novelty, but what are the advantages? if open to the surface then same as a regular hotel minus the fear that I will drown in my sleep, but if not then are we doing saturation diving? do they warn the kids not to swim to the surface? Decompression schedule in a chamber? I am soo confused.

what is the deal here? seems a lot like not a vacation I want to try.

I think it is just a novelty. I saw it on tv a few years ago (the one in Key Largo) and thought it was funny --- you are barely underwater at all, just a 1 room bubble type thing, you do have to use scuba gear to get in and out but other than that, why bother? Just my 2 cents.

I took a ride to Jule's Undersea Lodge (sp/name?) in Key Largo a few years ago. Saw no reason to go back. Either above or below the surface. But then, I didn't stay there so, who knows, it may be a paradise.
