Snorkel tragedy parents may have been killed by Irukandji jellyfish

Wear a full dive skin and nylon pantyhose over all exposed skin if you're in irikanji waters (top end of Aus rare for them to come down below the Tropic of Capricorn. Not much diving is done up there anyway due to assorted other nasties ie crocs.

At the moment we have a blue ringed octo surplus. My electrician was bitten a few weeks ago and said other than a tiny bee sting there was no pain just totally numb. Luckily for him he was crayfishing with his brother near a naval base, they intercepted on the way back to shore, took him to Garden Island, stabilised him before transferring by heli to hospital on mainland. He was discharged 5 hours later with Panadol for a sore back from bouncing around on the deck while his brother kept screaming "You've got three minutes to live" lol.
