No... it's been years. But that spill has really messed up some of the best (and most heavily used by boat charters) South Sound dive sites... at least in the short term. I don't know what long term effect it will have or what mitigation is possible.

Does anyone know where to go to volunteer to help clean animals?

Seriously, I thought I'd go take a crack at helping some of the poor critters. You see people on TV scrubbing oil off ducks and such...

The Road to hell is paved with good intensions????

We have had many oil spills in the UK over the past 20 years, Lots have been learned!

But there is no easy way to do this, if you do it wrong then the detergent kills the animal? , it breaks down the oils in the skin, fur, feathers......... Nightmare!!!

Try to find people with experiance to help you.............. In an ideal world you would draw a blank!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try contacting your local audubon society, they probably would know who does such things around you.
