I've got both a smallish lab-type unit, and one of the $50 plastic jewelry models off eBay. So far as I can tell, the cheapo works just as well as the industrial unit. Absent any way to objectively compare them, that may just mean it doesn't take much to clean scale and verdigris. It has a smaller chamber and lacks a heating function, neither of which has been a hindrance so far. It's easier to store and move around. Both work fast with a little vinegar or HCl.

I've got a $30 el cheapo from a local supermarket for 2+ years, 10+ firsts, 12+ seconds done, and still nothing to complain about.

Herman; I think I remember you mentioning that your cleaner is big enough for the cans of a double-hose regulator. If so, what size do you have.

Thanks,

Henrik

After comparing the one that TSandM posted to the Harbor Freight one, I think that they are the same one just branded differently. If they are it could be had for less if you have a %20 off coupon.

I have the larger one they had at the time, not sure if the larger one they still have is big enough but the older "large" size would easily hold one can of a DH reg plus the rest of the parts.

Question about the ultrasonic cleaners. Can I stick a whole second stage in, or should I only clean the metal parts?
