I just installed these new arms on my housing with Nocturnal Lights SL50's. I had been using home-made loc-line arms. Wow - what a difference. The entire unit is still somewhat negative, but by turning the lights so they hang down, the arms put buoyancy up above the lights and that makes the whole unit much more stable than the loc-line setup.

I ordered them through AquaSub Scuba in Toronto, which is not my regular LDS. He called ULCS while I was in the store to ask a few questions and the arms arrived one week later. Great Service.

I've only tested it in the pool, but the unit will get its "OW checkout" this weekend in Lake Huron and then its "Advanced checkout" next month in Bonaire.

I have almost the same setup but chose to make my own buoyancy tubes. They made a huge difference. The picture below also shows a homemade (by me) mounting system for the SL50.

I like the idea of attaching a tube to the lights but I was concerned about travelling with them. They look a little suspicious. Have you had any problems with that? Are the ends of the tubes glued on?

Yes, they are glued on with ABS cement. I've had no problems with TSA but they do swab them before they let me pass.
