jonnythan:D8 is huge. Get the C8... or better yet the C8 ELED. Twice the battery life.
You can't get the lantern grip on the C4/C8. You can only get it on the D4/D8 or LC. The handle on the C4/C8 is fixed. That's why I got a D4 instead of a C8 eLED.hoosier:I agree with him. Take C8-eLed. I am not sure how long bottom time you have. Sometimes, I feel that UK canon is a little heavy after 40 min dive time. So, if you can get the lantern grip. It is much easier to hold it in underwater.

I wonder if you could put the eLED module inside an LC enclosure? There seem to be quite a few dead LC lights around, at least based on conversations I've had.
The battery consumption and the fact that they are "brittle", at least that's what I've been told by quite a few people.hoosier:I have never tried it, but it is worth to try. Why not? I am not sure if they use the same diameter and height module though. The major cons of LC is the battery consumption even though you have a rechargable batteries.
misfit:The output of the UK eLed series are :
C8 ~ 5.6W; C4 ~ 4.6W ~ There is no big difference between them.
But, stay inside 5W, U get the double life of the 5W LED.
For me, I made the adapters to change the AA battery to suit for those D & C size batteries.
For example :
D8 ~ 32 AAs
D4 ~ 16 AAs
C8 ~ 16 AAs
C4 ~ 8 AAs
Night Rider D5 ~ 15AAs
Then I can run all my rechargable Ni-Mh AA batteries on all my electrical toys.
In C4 eLed , I can instead the 4 Cs with 8 AAs inside the C4, .........and make them in the same series, then I get the 8*1.2V Voltage => same bright as the output of the C8......................
Same bright, almost 5 Hrs burning time, and free AAs exchanging between all Ur other electrical toys.
With the likely adapter, I can instead the 8 Cs with 16 AAs, .........8 series, 2 bands in parallel.
With the 2500mAh, 1.2V AA, U get 5,000mAh, same Voltage.
More power means longer burning time, and the price of AA is farther cheaper than the price of C's or D's.
But, how should anyone need the 8.5 hrs burning time ?
U have to come back to exchage Ur tank during the normal diving, right ?
(Of course, if anyone need the longer burning time, he can turn the C8 to C4, ..............
4 series, with 4 bands in parallel ~ and get the illumination that extending to almost 17 Hrs .)
