Can't say from your cryptic description. In the mid 70's USD made a simplified version of the UDS which employed three 30 cu ft standard aluminum tanks and a one piece, angleform triple manifold which accepted a standard single hose regulator.

Is the one with the 3 30's and the angled manifold. Comes in a Grey plastic case with US Divers on it, the tanks are strapped in. There are two large female thread screws on the backplate, for lack of a better term. I saw a reference to a bc on ebay that mentioned this unit might have been called a cousteau shell or something. Love to find the plate of harness that attaches to the tamks. Thanks folks.

I would love to find one of the angled manifolds that accepts a standard reg w/ or without tanks and pack. If any one has one they would like to part with let me know. I would be interrested in hearing from anyone who has tripple set-ups.

I'm contemplaiting a rebreather project and I think the UDS-1 case could make a pretty nice project shell. Does anyone have a shell sitting around?

One of my dive buddies has several sets of these tanks with the standard manifold (no isolators); its has triple 30s mounted on it, custom bands, and a bizarre bolt set that goes to a custom backplate/BC system.

He loves it and has been diving it forever. The guy is an older gent and one of the better spearos that dives with me - he seems to always come up with the fish. Uses it with a standard reg.

He got bent a few years back and recently his old dive computer died - he replaced it with a Cobra. When he came up after the first dive on the new computer he was like "holy !@@#!" I asked him what the deal was, and he said "my old computer would have given me another 15 minutes on that dive - no wonder I got nailed!" :)

Funny how things change eh? :)

Same thing happened to me. The SP DCP's work well for a young man who exercises and is lean and muscular. Once past 50 it's time to go to a React or Prodigy, etc.
