Once again it stuck....Anyways...Do any of you guys that own the system use it for everyday diving or just for those few times with the special dive buddy ?

I've had three sets for years and still dive them today. The only prblem I ever found was the Fat large O-ring on the piston which wears down quickly and its imposible to find a commercial replacement as it is a USD custom metric size, Glad I have bags of parts for these. As for ballance, I find them to be perfectly ballanced and no need for a BCD as some unskilled and over weight divers use from time to time to try get it right.

Divers, I have read the pros n' cons you've written about the "system", including the cracking aluminum theory. I am tempted to locate one of these systems, and begin using it. Is there anyone still diving this system? If so, I'll be most grateful for your thoughts. I intend to add the 6# weight at the top, etc., etc. Alan minitug@yahoo.com

I hope this helps, as I recall the valve/ref assembly was part 1090-01 the project ident was 94120 and the project date 17 September 1973. The "fat" oring was part 22 on the drawing with a part number 1090-31. Now there is proberbly no one at USD that can remember this project anymore but someone in engineering may be able to dig our the old paper drawings and let you know what the Parker seal catalogue number was. It was nitrile, I cant remember ever a "custom metric size"
Not bad after 31 years just an o-ring problem!! lol
